Awaiting Baby P | Lifestyle Maternity Session
If it's any indicator how behind I am on my blogging –the wait is over! Baby Priya is HERE and she is beautiful ...and she is over a month old...
When Cassandra asked if I would consider doing an at-home session for their maternity session, I was so excited. It felt like the perfect idea, and it was. The setting enabled me to capture both Cassandra's beautiful bump as well as their eager anticipation of their baby girl's arrival.
For starters, every detail of her nursery was so thoughtfully put together. Items were picked out with great purpose, right down to the books on the bookshelf...
The light, the rug, the hand-crafted mobile, the stuffed animals (and Ruth Bader Ginsberg), all the wall decor. It all has meaning. It is a beautiful blend of Mom & Dad's interests, intellect, and humor.
Walking into the room you get a sense for the overwhelming love they have for this baby girl and the boundless hope they have for her future.
Another aspect of this home session that I loved was the opportunity to tell pieces of the pregnancy chapter that aren't always a part of traditional maternity session. When Cassandra arrived at the house with a bag of Chick-fil-a, I felt I would be remiss to exclude such a big part of pregnancy – pregnancy cravings!
But perhaps, maybe, what I was most excited about was meeting this little girl...
She is their well pampered pup who I knew had been a key helper/couch buddy through the pregnancy.
But the real MVP (besides Mom, obviously) has to be Manish. Cassandra loved to share the many ways he took care of her through everything. Many big things, but also little the little things. Like coffee (which, personally, I would say is kind of a big deal).
This family of three was so ready to become a family of four!
And, of course, I had to focus on the most beautiful bump:
And the stunning mama...
...who is always happiest with her best friend :)
Oh Cassandra & Manish, I couldn't be happier for your family. Priya is GORGEOUS, and I am beyond grateful you gave me the opportunity to capture this incredibly special time in your lives. I know you are so grateful for your wonderful daughter, but please know that she too is incredibly lucky. She has two parents who will love her, and each other, endlessly and be her biggest champions. This much is clear. Congratulations!
